INJECTION MOLDING

Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts from plastic materials (granular plastic). Material is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and forced into a mold cavity where it cools and hardens to the configuration of the tool (mold) cavity. Once the part is sufficiently cool, the mold opens and the part is ejected. The machines, they are able to do this process, are INJECTION MOLDING MACHINES.

Our main product is cosmetic jar and cap for cosmetic bottle. Beside the jars that are manufactured of PP plastic material, which is most common material for cosmetic, we also use SAN plastic material, which is clear, so that cosmetic jar looks like made of glass.

Our INJECTION DEPARTMENT has 37 injection molding machines. (ENGEL, Dr. BOY) Our machines are in different sizes -from 20 to 130 tons.

PRODUCT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

Industrial design is a combination of design, art and science, it aims to improve the aesthetics, ergonomics and functionality of the developed product.

Our company’s product design is an important component of our development. Experienced professionals, who are a part of our team, design the product in a way that it can carry out all the required functions, is easy to use and is aesthetically perfect which has a key influence on sales and marketing.

Plastika Virant’s design team uses different tools of development like sketching, product comparison, production of prototypes and testing. We use 3D software to produce realistic visualization – renderings for presentation of new products.

TOOL MAKING

After a product (cosmetic jar) is designed, usually by our industrial designer or an engineer (using SOLID WORKS 3D PROGRAM), molds are made by a moldmaker (toolmaker) from steel and precision-machined to form the features of the desired part.

Our tool department has variety of machines for making tools. (CNC machining center, CNC router, CNC erosion…)

Flexibility and knowledge in making tools resulted in more than 300 tools (from one to six-cavity) and this helps us to grow and to deliver high quality jars time after time. According to customer wishes, we can make the mold by the customer order (according in his technical drawings).

ASSEMBLING OF PARTS OF COSMETIC JAR

Due to fact, that many types of cosmetic jars are assembled from two, three or more parts, we use assembling machines to put together all necessary parts.

Those machines are custom made for our assembling process and they are automatic and semi-automatic and they have video controlling to detect failures.

SCREEN PRINTING ON COSMETIC JAR

Silk screen print is a print made using a stencil process in which an image or design is superimposed on a very fine mesh screen and printing ink is squeegeed onto the printing surface (cosmetic jars and caps) through the area of the screen that is not covered by the stencil.

In our printing department we have 3 UV screen-printing machines:

  • Two 1-color machines
  • One 3-color machine

After we get an artwork from customer or his designer (design of print, number of colors, Pantone nr. of colors), we can make films and after that screens. Because when printing UV colors are used, a more striking 3D image or design is created.

Our advantage is the fact, that we can print relative small quantities such as 5.000 pcs, which is at the same time a minimum for order of printed jars. Possible technic is combination (depend on type of jar) of screen- printing and HOT-printing in the same image or design as well.

HOT PRINTING

Foil printing is the application of metallic foil, usually gold or silver, to plastic where a heated die is stamped onto the foil, making it adhere to the surface leaving the design of the die on the jar, inner or cap. Foil printing can be combined with screen-printing to create a differently (more shiny) image or design.

Options of hot printing:

  • Gold or silver ring on cap of the jar
  • Gold or silver image (inscription or logo) on jar or his inner

We have 5 manual and semi-automatic hot-printing machines.

PAD (TAMPO) PRINTING

Pad printing is a printing process that can transfer a 2-D image onto a 3-D object. This is accomplished using an indirect offset (gravure) printing process that involves an image being transferred from the cliché via a silicone pad onto a substrate. Pad printing is used for printing on otherwise impossible products such as very curved cap of the jar.

We can offer one, two or three color TAMPO PRINTING on caps and jars.

METALLIZATION AND LACQUERING

Metallizing is the general name for the technique of coating metal on the surface of non-metallic objects (plastic).

Our cooperation partner works for many years on cosmetic jars metallization technologies, so we can offer a few kind of metallization on cap or body of the jar:

  • FROSTED or SHINY (gold, silver and other colors)

Beside metallization we can also offer lacqering on products that cannot be injection moulded in frosted surface. This is applied usually on product made of SAN or ABS material. Lacquering can be done:

  • FROSTED (transparent or colored)
